Brief
Meadow Bay Villages is the coming together of industry experts who are offering an exciting new approach to the holiday park experience. Having already acquired several parks across the country, Meadow Bay Villages has their sights set on rapid growth, and we’re supporting them to achieve it through expert strategy, brand, marketing, web development and communications. Here we showcase the first step in the journey: brand development.
We love working with brands who challenge the status quo, and Meadow Bay Villages does just that. With carefree fun and adventure at its heart, owners and guests get fantastic facilities, beautiful locations and the freedom to enjoy inclusive activities that redefine the great British holiday.
APPROACH
With an initial wordmark logo already defined for Meadow Bay Villages, we had the opportunity to create sub-brands for their five parks: Billing Aquadrome, Hayling Island, Golden Leas, Hollybush Farm and Cogenhoe Mill.
We wanted to strike a balance between keeping the hero brand’s styling, but also injecting personality into each park. We also needed to incorporate ‘Meadow Bay Villages’ into each logo without overcomplicating the design, so we stacked it beneath the park name and added the Meadow Bay Villages bird, which sits playfully on the letters.
Staying true to Meadow Bay Village’s unique offering, we chose to steer away from typical holiday park colour palettes and instead use energetic and lively tones that feel different in the industry. To add extra energy and individuality, we created organic flourishes inspired by each park’s unique surroundings, which can be used across digital and print.
To honour the main brand, we took part of the leaf to create a ‘pebble’, which can be used as a holding device.
Alongside the brand development, we also worked closely with the client to discover and articulate the brand’s unique positioning. By crafting a purpose, mission, vision, values and tone of voice, we’ve created a robust identity that has depth and meaning – something that’s integral to audience buy-in.
IMPACT
The result is a brand that understands where it sits in the industry, how it stands apart from its competitors and what it stands for. This unique positioning sits harmoniously alongside the brand design to create a compelling identity that’s already turning heads.
