Fuelled by decaf coffee and Thai food, with a heart rooted in Kenya and a head full of ideas, Sarah’s our Creative Director who brings joy (and yoga!) into everything she does. We got the lowdown on what drives her both in and out of the studio.

If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be and why?
Handbalancing! I have been on a journey to get a freestanding handstand for a couple of years and it is ever so elusive as yet. It isn’t a useful life skill but it is very cool when you can confidently do it and a great party trick too!

If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Thai food

What’s the most memorable piece of advice you’ve ever received?

To do what brings you joy. I am not sure it is always the easiest of advice to follow but I attempt to try to remember it.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I am not entirely sure (maybe it is partly that I have not yet grown up!) but it involved living somewhere hot with lots of land, pet pot bellied pigs and loads of dogs. Throw in there some kind of making and creating things and that was the sum of it really.

Who inspires you?

Without wanting to make anyone cringe I would say it is my husband. He is calm, kind, fearless, grabs opportunities and approaches each day with a positive attitude as well as always having so much time for other people and genuinely wanting to make things better.

Name your top 3 films of all time.

  1. Labyrinth (from childhood days, it is a bit odd watching it as an adult)
  2. Slumdog Millionaire
  3. Notting Hill

How do you like to switch off after work?

Yoga, handstands, long walks with friends and spending time with my precious family.

Finish the sentence

The one thing I couldn’t live without is [yoga] because [it is the only thing that keeps me sane].

If I could swap lives with someone for a day, it would be [Patrick Beach] because [how great would it be to be able to achieve such awesome fitness, yoga and general zen].

The best trip I’ve ever taken was to [Kenya] because [it is where I was born and where my parents live and has just about the most amazing places to go on safari, swim in warm sea and experience some seriously amazing outdoor adventures].

Quick Fire Round

Pancakes or Waffles? Pancakes

Morning coffee or afternoon nap? Morning coffee (decaf ☺️)

Favourite season of the year? Summer

Introvert or Extrovert? Somewhere in the middle

Netflix or BBC iPlayer? Netflix
