Our brilliant client, Evolve, recently hosted a workshop on ‘Being Productive’, and we sent our very own Tiff and Holly to soak up the pearls of wisdom.

As the entrepreneur’s favourite place for advice and support, we’re big fans of Evolve’s events, which is why we’re always there, notebook and pen in hand!

Here are just a few of the pearls we took away:

1. To be productive, recognise what slows you down, whether it be personal motivation, physical environment, lack of clear goals or workplace stress. It’s all about prioritising the most important things and getting them done efficiently.

2. Having the right mindset is important, but that needs to be paired with strategy – one that breaks a task down into small pieces and gives clear overall goals.

3. Use your time wisely! Prioritise what’s urgent, what can be delegated, what can wait and what can be eliminated. It’s essential to plan ahead, understand your goals and allocate time realistically.

4. Delegation isn’t an easy skill, but it’s absolutely integral to productivity. You may not want to lose control of the task, or simply don’t trust anyone else to do it. Perhaps you fear people will receive the delegation negatively. Trust in the process and you’ll see great results quickly.

5. Great delegation means choosing the right person for the job, briefing them effectively on the task and providing the right resources so that they can do the job well.

Tiff and Holly also came joint first in a challenge whereby their team had to complete a number of tasks within a set timeframe. Each task was given a certain number of points and the team with the most points won. They split tasks, prioritised and grouped tasks together, coming away with first place and a pat on the back for their uber productivity!

No doubt Evolve will see us again soon. In the meantime, if you’re a business leader looking to boost your productivity, check out Evolve’s fantastic events, support and advice here.
