Five Resolutions. One Year On.
12/12/24
At the beginning of the year, we flew into January with ambitious resolutions for 2024. From giving back to the community to championing team wellbeing, we set our sights high and committed to making a meaningful impact both inside and outside the office. Now, as the year draws to a close, the question is, how did we do? Spoiler alert – we smashed them all!
- Get to know Southbourne high street ✅
Since moving into our brand new office in December 2023, we’ve fully embraced our new location, and it’s safe to say that one year on, we now call SOBO our home (it’s like we’ve always been here!) From the vast array of cafes to the charity shops to Halo lunch hotspots to endless trips to Sugar Mango, we got to know the highstreet to the full.
- Partner with more impact-driven organisations ✅
We’re proud to say that 2024 was another incredible year of partnerships with impact-driven businesses including the amazing Alice Charity and Footprints Charity, who are transforming lives every day. And, we’re in the midst of creating fantastic work for a huge social impact company (watch this space). On top of that, we continued supercharging UK for UNHCR’s website, supporting their incredible mission to aid displaced families around the world.
- Champion team wellbeing ✅
2024 was the year we shone with team wellbeing. Family beach days, coastal walks and a loaded social calendar were just some of the wellbeing goals we set ourselves earlier this year ‒ and we ticked them all off the list. We even started our very own Halo run club, a fantastic way to boost our mental health and finish the day feeling refreshed and recharged. We also introduced new, Halo Behaviours into our culture, an initiative that helps us create a shared culture that everyone can feel proud of.
Here is just some of the amazing feedback we’ve had from our wonderful team this year:
“Halo is an incredibly friendly, supportive and fun workplace with an amazing vibe. (It’s) easy to see why it’s won “Sunday Times Best Place to Work 2024!”
“I feel like I’m walking into a family, a happy place where people actually like each other and care about each other. Jess and Nick are fantastic bosses. They listen, they care, and they work really hard to keep everyone happy both in and outside of work.”
“The family environment that has been nurtured at Halo is refreshing, everyone is a pleasure to work with and just generally interact with, and you instantly get the feeling that every individual is valued and every voice is heard.”
- Quality first ✅
We headed into 2024 wanting to work with partners who value excellence, and nothing less. From selling out summer at Meadow Bay Villages with standout campaigns to crafting stunning, cohesive marketing collateral for Mencion, we’ve stayed laser-focused on creating work that wows. And it’s not just the biggies that have felt the impact ‒ creating beautiful work for local businesses like Flavours School of Cookery has been just as rewarding.
- Give back ✅
We love giving back to our community, it feeds into our values and there’s no better feeling than knowing we’ve made a difference in the world. This year, we went above and beyond.
- Partnering with amazing charities like the Alice Charity and Footprints Charity has been a highlight of our year.
- A Macmillan Bake Sale brought in an impressive £169.55, and Jess smashed it with £800 (and counting!) raised for Pavilion Dance South West as she shined in Business Come Dancing.
- Advent got a twist with our Reverse Advent Calendar, turning Halo into a donation hub for the Southbourne Foodbank.
- Businesses got a festive boost with free marketing consultancy sessions in our Christmas Giveaway.
- We welcomed brilliant individuals for work experience and summer internships which made our team even brighter.
It’s been a year of smashing big goals and even bigger wins, and we’re already looking forward to what’s next. Got resolutions of your own for 2025? Let’s make them happen together ‒ get in touch today.
