She’s a creative hotpot of ideas, but what’s Dani like when she’s not creating brand alchemy? Check out her answers in our latest Employee Spotlight.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

Ooh… I love a bit of Karaoke. Now here is where I’ll be showing my age – but you can find me rocking out to ‘ironic’ by Alannis Morissette as my go to song. I loved the album ‘Jagged Little Pill’ when I was really, really, really young – it was good for letting off steam when you were angry with the boyfriend!! 😀

It’s a Saturday night in…what’s on the TV?

On a Saturday night in it’s ‘Strictly’ on the box. I’d like to say that it’s totally influenced by my daughter, who loves to watch it. Yes – that’s what I will say.

What’s the best thing about being a creative brand strategist?

Well I guess I am a creative at heart, so I love looking at the bigger picture, working out the challenges and working in some creative magic. The very best bit is watching the client’s eyes light up (or in some cases well up) as if you’ve just pulled a rabbit out of a hat – it’s then you know you’ve nailed it.

If you could turn into any animal for the day, what would it be and why?

Erm – this is a tough one, but I think I would like to be a beautiful, exotic bird.

I like the idea of taking flight when I fancy and having the freedom to fly and soar to some beautiful far away places and see the world from afar.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

An actress, singer and dancer. I wanted to be on the West End stage. That worked out well!

Where is your favourite place to eat in the SOBO area?

There are a few places. If I am feeling vibey I like to eat in Makla. I love Moroccan food and it has a great balance of good food, cocktails and music.

If I am feeling more romantic and calm – I love the Larder House – and the secret cocktail bar upstairs is amazing. Oh and for brunch or lunch it is Harry’s or Syds Slaps – nom noms.

Name a brand you absolutely LOVE!

I love a purposeful brand – one that wants to do good in the world and tells a great story. One that you want to feel a part of. There are too many to mention but I am going to pick a smaller independent brand – Scamp and Dude. I love their all round greatness. It’s such a positive and uplifting female fashion brand that really resonates with me personally. Great products, ethos, meaning and emotive story…plus you can always tell when it’s a Scamp & Dude.

Finish the sentence

[Dirty Dancing] is my favourite film because [nobody puts baby in the corner].

I think [perfection] is overrated because [it doesn’t exist and there is no room for improvement].

The thing that makes me smile most in the world is [my loved ones] because [they keep my world turning].

Quick Fire Round

Night in or night out? Out.

Work from home or the office? Office

Cocktail or mocktail? Cocktail

Pizza or Pasta? Pasta

Talk to animals or speak every language? Every language

Time travel or teleportation? Teleportation

Shopping spree or saving spree?  Shopping

From pumpkins to presents: how to nail the Christmas buildup

It happens every year. One minute it’s pumpkins, the next it’s tinsel. The day after Halloween, shelves turn red and gold and inboxes start filling with festive cheer. But while it might look like an overnight switch, smart brands know there’s more to it than that. A successful festive transition is as much science as it is storytelling.
